Series 1000 Frequently Asked Questions

The dialer will not accept commands.

The phone commands can be affected by back ground noise being fed in through your phones mouthpiece. If your phone has a "Mute" button use it, if you don't, cover the mouthpiece with your hand.

When I pick up my programming phone, the "Off Hook" light does not come on.

Make sure that the dialer is plugged into a active phone line. If a active phone line is not available you will need to turn the power switch off, pick up you handset and turn the power back on.

When I put a channel in alarm the light on the module comes on but the dialer does not make a call.

Even though you may have a channel setup as a particular type of module you must set the dialer to "Call on Alarm". To check, the command is *c8 (c = channel number 1-9) to program the command is **c82(c = channel number 1-9).

Does the dialer need to be plugged into a active phone to program.

No, but you will have to turn the power switch off, pick up your handset and turn the power back on.

My dialer will not accept the correct date.

The dialer is most likely not Y2K complaint. You need version 2.3 or 3.0

How do I find out the version firmware do I have?

There are two methods you can use.

Remote:
Call the S1000.
After the unit answers it will speak the system and status message, you will then be prompted to "Enter The Access Code".
Enter your access code, unit will respond "System Ready"
Enter the command *000, unit will respond with the system name followed by the firmware version.

Local:
For this method to work the S1000 must have a telephone handset plugged into the "Phone" jack and a active telephone line plugged into the "Line".
Pick up the handset and you should get the response "System Ready".
Enter the command *000, unit will respond with the system name followed by the firmware version.

How many Analog modules can Series 1000 support?

The Series 1000 can support the maximum of 3.

What is the latest version firmware?

Version 3.0

Is there a command to reset the dialer to factory default?

Yes

Caution: Using Initialize commands will clear all programmed information!

**009001973 Response "Initialize System Data"
**009102846 Response "Initialize Telephone Data"

Note: If you suspect your dialer has a problem that needs servicing and the dialer will accept commands, you can try to reset the dialer using the above commands, sometimes this will fix the problem.
